The Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team (SingCERT) at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore has issued warnings to users about the SMS messages spreading the virus.

In an e-mail message sent to users, SingCERT said that it has received reports of individuals receiving SMS messages from their contacts with the content: Is this your photo?

When a user clicks on the link, he may be prompted to install an app. Doing so will download and install malware on their phones, SingCert said.

It goes on to say that the malware will access the user’s address book and send similar SMS messages to the user’s contacts.

Smartphones running on Android are affected by this virus, it stated.

SingCert recommends that users delete the SMS immediately if they receive it, and uninstall the app “Photoviewer” and the Android Application Package (APK) file from infected phones. The APK file can be found in the Downloads folder, which can be accessed from the browser’s settings page, it said.

It also advises users not to click on suspicious links.

How to block Facebook game requests on iPhone and iPad

I came across this article online . and i think many will thank me for sharing this .  Share it and spread the word !

If you don’t play Candy Crush Saga, or any other Facebook game for that matter, but you keep getting requests for lives and items from your Facebook friends, you’re probably past frustrated. I’ve even seen some friends delete people or unfollow them simply to stop the never ending stream of game requests. Unfortunately, sometimes people don’t realize they’re spamming their friends. Luckily, there’s an easier way to stop game requests than deleting or unfollowing your friends.

How to block all Facebook game and app requests on iPhone and iPad

  1. Launch the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on the More button in the bottom navigation.
  3. Tap on Settings — it’s all the way at the bottom so you’ll need to scroll down a ways.
  4. Tap on Notifications.
  5. Tap on Mobile Push under the How You Get Notifications section.
  6. Uncheck Application Requests and Application Invites.

You can repeat this process for email, text, message, and on Facebook too so you stop app and game requests everywhere. Keep in mind that this blocks requests from all apps, not just games. It doesn’t mean you won’t receive notifications for apps you’ve added yourself, but just ones other people send you that you haven’t added on your own first.
